Tahini Style Alpiste Paste


  • In a saute pan over medium heat, lightly toast alpiste seeds until fragrant. 

  • Transfer to a tray to cool completely.

  • In the work bowl of a food processor, grind the toasted seeds until the mixture resembles light sand. 

  • With the blade spinning, slowly drizzle in the grapeseed oil until a smooth, pourable paste forms.


  • 1 cup (250 mL) alpiste seed

  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) grapeseed oil or similarly neutral flavoured oil
