Alpiste Brownies
15 Minutes Prep + 25 Minutes Baking + 30 Minutes Cooling

Steps
Position rack in centre of oven.
Preheat oven to 350° F (180° C).
In a bowl, combine, alpiste flour, corn flour, bean flour, cocoa powder and baking powder.
In another bowl, mix egg, butter and vanilla. Mix well.
Add liquid ingredients to dry ingredients. Fold in nuts.
Pour batter into a 9 x 9 inch (23 x 23 cm) pan.
Bake 25 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean.
Cool 5 minutes.
Prepare icing by whipping all ingredients together.
Ice brownies while still warm.
Cut into 36 squares.

BROWNIES
1/2 cup (125 mL) alpiste flour
2 Tbsp (25 mL) fine ground corn flour
2 Tbsp (25 mL) Mung bean flour
3 Tbsp (50 mL) cocoa powder
1/2 tsp (2 mL) baking powder (avoid products containing wheat starch)
1 large egg
1/2 cup ( 125 mL) butter, melted
1 cup (250 mL) granulated sugar
1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla extract
1/2 cup (125 mL) chopped walnuts
ICING
1/4 cup (50 mL) soft butter
1 cup (250 mL) icing sugar
1 1/2 Tbsp (20 mL) cocoa powder
1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla extract
1 Tbsp (15 mL) 1% milk
